Press: Germany's 2010 Federal Net Borrowing Around E80 Bln
BERLIN (MNI) - German federal net new borrowing this year will likely amount to only around E80 billion, down from the E85.8 billion target in the 2010 budget bill, the German daily Bild reported Thursday on its website, citing Finance Ministry sources.
The ministry cited lower unemployment-related spending and lower interest rate payments as reasons for the lower borrowing need, Bild said.
The parliamentary budget committee will put finishing touches on budget bill this Thursday. The session is expected to last way into the night.
